Ericsson

Head of Workplace Services Strategy and Partnership

About this opportunity

Ericsson's Real Estate (RE) team is accountable for the company's global Real Estate portfolio, creating and operating an engaging physical and digital workplace experience! It supports innovation and productivity and enables users to be their best. It partners with Ericsson businesses on value creation, sustainability, and brand experience. The company has a hybrid working policy and is on a journey to new ways of working and a step towards a change in workplace experience.

Global Workplace Operations (GWO) is within the RE organisation. It is accountable for strategy development and delivering Workplace Experience, Facilities Management, Workplace Services, and RE Sustainability across Ericsson's global portfolio. GWO ensures RE solutions are customised to reflect business and user profiles at 350 locations worldwide. GWO uses an outsourced IFM model to deliver solutions, allowing the in-house team to focus more on stakeholder engagement.

This role leads a new unit and team; GWO owns and drives the RE sub-strategies for Services and Sustainability and elevates, inspires and manages the relationships with the IFM partners who deliver services and experience across the Global portfolio. It reports to the Head of Global Workplace Operations and is a member of the GWO leadership team.

What you will do:

Leadership:

  • The successful candidate will work closely with Real Estate Portfolio and Project Management, Workplace Community and innovation, and Strategy and transformation units.
  • Lead a unit consisting of 4 Geographic IFM Relationship leads, a Sustainability lead, 2 Performance analysts and Transformation Programme Manager.
  • Lead the change management journey across GWO to ensure that key stakeholder groups buy-in and facilitate the agreed-upon transformation. Delegate ownership and delivery tasks, leveraging in-team Project Management resources.
  • Mentor your team to proactively drive delivery, manifest change, and transform. Ensure these activities improve how real estate adds value to the Ericsson business and ensure our Real Estate remains effective.

Strategy:

  • Own, manage, and architect solutions to deliver RE sub-strategies and beyond in GWO and drive agreed-upon transformation through the unit.
    • Key transformation areas are Workplace Experience (services and amenities, health and wellbeing, and social and community engagement) and digitalisation of user services.
  • Liaison and collaboration with the GWO Global Lead to ensure regional solutions are aligned and impactful.
  • Establish and maintain visibility of strategic change work completed by IFM partners across other markets and clients, and bring these to Ericsson.
  • Present transformative solutions to strategic challenges to RE Leadership, work with internal partners to help deliver, and showcase these during delivery.
  • Lead a Change Review process to understand the feasibility of scaling, further investment, operational readiness, and diversification of change efforts based on the lessons learned from the transformation programme.

Partnership Management & Ways of Working:

  • Lead engagement and relationship management with Ericsson's IFM partners via Geographic leads and Performance analysts.
  • Partner with IFM Partners and Ericsson Communications and drive work to ensure initiatives are visible, successes are understood, and the momentum of change is maintained.
  • Develop and roll out Global best practices to harmonise working methods, leverage the relationship with our 2 IFM Partners, and lead supplier governance and the RFS cycle for GWO.

Governance and Contract Management:

  • Provide simplified contract mechanism interpretation to RE GWO Geos Teams on a scheduled and ad hoc basis. Build the partnership elements and enhance collaboration with the IFM Partner.
  • Drive and ensure the governance structure in the IFM contracts is followed and aligned with the RE GWO strategy and goals.

Financial Management:

  • Support the REPO RE Finance Admin Team by sharing best practices and collaboration.
  • Collaborate, network, and share knowledge with GFGO BC Sourcing & Real Estate, streamlining all Finance reporting and aligning global IFM budget-setting processes and forecasts.
  • Work with procurement teams to support the pricing of the transformation program. Demonstrate the value of GWO’s change structure to RE Leadership.

Sustainability:

  • Ensure the development of the RE Sustainability strategy to meet Ericsson's Net Zero in its own operations target by 2030 and other environmental objectives. Meet Group targets, ensure accurate reporting and drive initiatives to reduce the RE environmental footprint (e.g. waste and water reduction).

The skills you bring:

  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of personal stakeholder engagement strategy, inspiring your team and partners to achieve innovative solutions.
  • Subject matter expertise, with a strong understanding of market trends and FM procurement models
  • Radical and innovative thinking with a challenger mindset
  • Experience in leading and governing Global IFM relationships at a senior level (either as a customer or supplier)
  • An inspiring leadership style with the ability to influence colleagues and internal stakeholders
  • The ability to make change and manage improvement.
  • Integrity in all business activity
  • Commercial mindedness and able to articulate contract terms for practical application.
