Your opportunity
As a Mine Geologist within Geology and Mine planning department at Boliden Garpenberg, you will be joining a company where continuous improvements, health, environment and safety are prioritized. You will work both independently and collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams including geologists, mining engineers, Mine production and Mine Services groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drill core logging and sampling
- Update ore models, including interpretation of mineralization, geology and structures
- Interpreting, modeling geological data and communicating with Mine and Mill production
This is a permanent, full-time position in Garpenberg and you will report to Chief Geologist within the Geology and Mine planning department. Working hours are regular office hours. Underground work is required within the role. Travels may occur in the role.
What you bring
To thrive in this role and contribute to the future of Garpenberg, you will need great communication skills, a strong ability to cooperate and collaborate, high attention to quality and detail, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. Communication is an important aspect of the job as a Mine Geologist and you must be able to express yourself in English and Swedish both verbally and in writing at a technical level.
Qualifications
- At least bachelor’s degree in Geology/geoscience
- At least 3 to 5 years´ experience of working in mining and-/or exploration industry.
- Experience of mine mapping, drill core logging, interpretation and modeling.
- Category B driving license
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience with QAQC and geometallurgy.
- Experience in Leapfrog, Deswik, WellCAD and AcQuire.
