Ericsson

System modelling and design

Join our Team

About this opportunity:

Join Ericsson and help build the Radio Access Network of the future. As our products are built upon the latest technology defining the cutting-edge performance, we need to make the most efficient usage of the compute systems. Now you can be part of the team that shape our future products.

The Digital System Technology unit is part of the Systems & Technology organization within Business Area Networks. We are responsible for technology leadership and research in digital technology and software with focus on wireless systems for 6G and beyond. This is achieved through concept studies, system design, test beds, and driving technical innovation.

We are looking for a low-level software developer with a keen interest in how CPU systems work and how to make algorithms perform efficiently utilizing existing hardware, and with a profile towards system architecture design to join the Digital System Technology unit in Lund, Sweden.

We can offer you an interesting and developing career within an ever-changing technology area that exploits and expands the boundaries of computational system architectures.

What you will do:

You will be part of a team of professionals bridging the hardware with the software domain, who represents a wide area of in-depth knowledge of the CPU-system technology, and who are willing to share their knowledge in supporting you in your role and personal development, and yet you will be an essential member of a smaller team where your contribution will make a difference.

As an employee you will be empowered to make your own planning, in securing the progress of delivering results. Your assignment spans from scouting for future technology to analyze how to make a piece of product code perform better, and develop system models in supporting implementation or realize proof of concepts of new ways of thinking.

Key parts are developing various types of tools for capturing data and model low-level data movement within the compute architecture, making models and analysis of data in order to achieve the maximum performance at a limited energy cost.

The skills you bring:

You are confident in solving complex technical questions across organizations in collaboration with others. Your contributions span from early feasibility all the way to implementation, trying out new concepts and ideas, spanning from standalone parts up to complete end to end solutions.

You are analytical, creative and result oriented. You will come up with creative solutions and know how to resolve problems when lacking information and act outside your formal area of responsibility when needed.

As a person you should be self-motivated, positive, and outgoing, a team player with strong analytical skills. You should also have the ability to motivate, coordinate and coach others to success, and possess good communications skills and be a good relationship builder.

Position Qualifications

  • M.Sc. degree within computer science or equivalent technical education on university level
  • Preferably at least 5 years’ experience within relevant technical area (or Ph.D)
  • Experience of working with Linux and RTOS - Device drivers
  • Experienced embedded programmer (assembler, C, C++, compilers, communication protocols)
  • Experience with advanced embedded CPU cores and cache systems (arm and RISC-V experience is meritorious)
  • Experience of working efficiently within the Linux shell
  • Experience with development of system modelling is a plus
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
